Learn how to turn a printed quilt panel into something uniquely yours through creative choices, color exploration, and simple, confidence-building techniques.
Personalize Your Panel Workshop with Marianne - Feb-7, 1:00 to 5:00
Printed fabric panels offer endless possibilities for creative exploration. In this class, we’ll use a commercially printed panel as a jumping-off point to experiment with color, texture, and the interplay of light and dark. Marianne will share how she builds dynamic quilts using simple quilt math while honoring the structure of the panel itself. Along the way, you’ll learn how thoughtful choices can transform a pre-designed image into something deeply personal.
Needed Supplies:
One panel of your choice
4 or more coordinating fat quarters
Scraps to use and share
Good working sewing machine
Rotary cutter, ruler, cutting mat
Level: Beginner sewer/quilter with basic, working knowledge of their sewing machine, including the ability to thread their own machine and perform a basic straight stitch.
Instructor: Marianne Millette-Kelley is a professional quilt artist and educator with more than 40 years of experience. She is a valued member of the Fiddlehead team, a Union Farmer’s Market vendor, and she lives in Belmont, Maine.
